When it comes to skincare and beauty trends, acne is often perceived as public enemy number one. However, a recent study is turning that notion on its ear in at least one crucial way: It now appears that acne may actually be tied to a longer lifespan. (Regardless, at Kristals Cosmetics we’ll still help you clear up your gorgeous skin!)
The research comes out of King’s College in London. According to the researchers, people who have acne also happen to have longer telomeres, or structures on the ends of their chromosomes, in their cells, than people who do not have problems with acne.
And longer telomeres ultimately contribute to longer lives for the individuals who have them. This is related to telomeres’ function as protectors of the end of the chromosome from deterioration or from fusion with neighboring chromosomes, both behaviors related to aging.
While being acne-prone may now have this one feather in its cap, that doesn’t mean you have to live with the acne if you’re susceptible to it. Worried about acne-prone skin that tarnishes your confidence and ruins your day? The line of crystal- and gemstone-infused beauty products at Kristals Cosmetics are all designed to make you look your best, all the while balancing your energy so you can feel as fabulous as you look.
In fact, Kristals Cosmetics has a number of products in their skincare and beauty product line that are specifically formulated to fight acne and reduce its negative impact on your skin, including our AMETHYST Oxygen Instant Energizing Activating Serum that helps even out skin tone and diminishes acne scars, and our AVENTURINE Collagen Booster Mask, which removes excess sebum from oily areas to give you smooth skin that retains moisture.
